📍Turtle Land
Turtle Land is a unique place that is shaped exactly like a turtle—shell, head, legs, and all. It is hidden low in the grass in China, where most people think they are just looking at… grass. Turtle Land is most famous for one thing: turtles. Lots of them. Only them. No other animals allowed (the turtles voted).
From above, Turtle Land looks like a regular turtle taking a nap. From inside, it looks like a very wet turtle neighborhood.
Turtle Land was discovered by a boy named Luke, who was not searching for land at all—he was searching for a lost toy.
While walking through tall grass, Luke followed a turtle that looked “extra important.” When he stepped on what he thought was a rock, the rock slowly moved, blinked, and turned out to be part of a giant turtle shell. The ground gently wobbled, rain started falling, and suddenly Luke realized he was standing on an entire turtle-shaped land.
A turtle nearby looked up at him and slowly nodded, as if to say, “Yes. You found us.”
Turtle Land is very rainy, almost all the time. The turtles like it that way. The rain keeps the land muddy, the swamps squishy, and the turtles happy.
Sometimes it rains lightly. Sometimes it rains a lot. Sometimes it rains so much that even the rain looks surprised.
Turtle Land has simple but very turtle-approved landforms:
Swamps, perfect for slow swimming and serious turtle thinking.
A large lake, where turtles gather to float, nap, and eat.
Soft, muddy ground that makes walking slow, which turtles believe is correct.
The entire land rests on the turtle-shaped body, which is very old, very calm, and never in a hurry.
There is only one kind of animal in Turtle Land:
Turtles - Big turtles, small turtles, fast turtles (which are still slow), and turtles who forget where they were going but enjoy the journey anyway. No birds, no fish, no bugs—just turtles.
Life in Turtle Land is quiet, wet, and slow. Turtles spend their days swimming in the water, resting in the swamps, and eating seaweed, which is their favorite food and also their favorite topic of conversation.
There is no rushing, no noise, and no stress. Everything happens at turtle speed—and that’s exactly how Turtle Land likes it.
