M. R. Harry
World Record Hair Grower / Former Shampoo Commercial Actor
M.R. Harry was born on March 9, 1988, and coincidentally grew up on Hairy Lane in Haryland, Massachusetts, a place locals insist was named after him before he was born. He is best known for having the hairiest armpits in the world, a feature that earned him the world record for longest armpit hair. His armpit hair is thick, wild, and often enters a room before he does.
From birth, M.R. Harry made a personal promise that he would never shave, and he has kept that promise his entire life. As a child, his armpit hair grew faster than the rest of him. By elementary school, he had already learned how to braid his armpit hair, experimenting with knots, twists, and even tiny bows. When asked why, he simply said, “It felt right.”
In high school, M.R. Harry was voted “Most Likely to Get Stuck in a Locker” after his armpit hair once got caught in the door. As he got older, his hair continued to grow longer and wiser. After earning the World Record for Longest Armpit Hair in 2022 at 7.6 feet long, he became famous. His fame led to M.R. becoming a model for shampoo commercials, proudly washing his armpit hair for advertisements promoting the famous tear-free shampoo invented by Stingy Shampoo, although the screaming on set never stopped.
M.R. Harry attempted to play several professional sports, but his armpit hair always caused problems. In hockey, it got tangled in his jersey and blocked slap shots. In lacrosse, the hair wrapped around the stick and accidentally caught the ball. In football, his armpit hair spilled out of his pads and was mistaken for a tackling opponent. Though his sports career never took off, his efforts helped highlight the dangers of excessive armpit hair in athletics.
He gets laughed at for his hairy armpits, but he says the hair laughs last.
His armpit hair has its own shampoo routine.
Birds have briefly considered nesting in it.
He has never owned deodorant.
He once lost his keys in his armpit hair for three days.
